How can I avoid losing my work?

We realize that it is frustrating when you have worked for a long time on some content and then when you try to save it in the website editor, the session has ended so that the changes are not saved.

When this happens, it is a characteristic of your browser's "session" behavior and we don't have any way to change that. However, there are steps you can take to prevent the session timing out.

We suggest that you save changes frequently. For example: saving after composing each paragraph. It's best to not go longer than 20 minutes between saving. This should prevent a timeout in any browser.

You could also compose your content in a plain text editor, such as NotePad on Windows, or TextEdit on Mac OS X, and then copy and paste the content into your editor. However, you should make sure that you are editing in plain text mode. Programs like Microsoft Word and other non-plain text editors have their own formatting code, which can cause problems when copied into the editor. If you do use a text editor, we recommend using the 'Paste as plain text' option in the editor when copying the content to your site.
